[Signo] Call for papers v. 52, n. 104, 2027 - Advances and setbacks in children's and young adult literature since Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós's “Manifesto for a Literary Brazil”
The aim of this thematic dossier is to bring together research addressing advances and setbacks in children’s and young adult literature, taking as a starting point the “Manifesto for a Literary Brazil” (Manifesto por um Brasil Literário)—launched at the Paraty Literary Fair in 2009 and published by Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós (2022). Submissions are invited that offer theoretical or methodological insights, or reflections on mediation strategies, opening a dialogue on how contemporary times have reinterpreted the author's premises — as set forth in the document — that "the presence of literature is indispensable in all spaces where childhood circulates" and that "all activities centering on literature will be promoted to transform the country into a reading society" (Queirós, 2012, p. 119). The dossier prioritizes academic work that engages in dialogue with Bartô’s literary output across its various areas and themes.
