Public policies for continuing training of teachers in the Municipal Public Education in the City of Sorocaba

The text presents a discussion on the continuing training of teachers implemented by the Department of Education of the municipality of Sorocaba. The investigation focused on verifying the documents that guide the continued training of teachers in the municipality's public education network. The objective was to examine the theoretical-methodological context that influences the writing of documents, as well as the Guidance Booklets that will support continuing teacher training courses. The research results point to the influence of competency-based pedagogy on documents and continuing education courses for teachers that are offered in the municipal public education.
