Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the use of peace culture and resilience concept in the network outreach projects coordinated by Coque Vive UFPE, and map actions that promote and/or built up peace culture and resilience within this network. The methodology consisted of a literature review and case study of these projects. Six projects conducted in the community of Coque, in the city of Recife are shown. An analysis of the projects indicates the presence of thematic promotion of peace culture proposed by Milani, as well as highlight the values proposed by Disken. Resilience comes from the categories of Grotberg. We present four shares of projects seeking to stimulate and rescuewith residents new learning and promotion of peaceful coexistence resilience. We point out the importance of expanding the studies in the peace culture and resilience as a way to improve the operations of the university in our society.
