This article analyzes tensions in Brazilian curricular direction, focusing on the BNCC, the Gaúcho Curricular Reference, and High School reform in Rio Grande do Sul. Drawing on Michel Pêcheux’s Discourse Analysis, neoliberal propositions are denaturalized, disrupting the illusion of transparency concealing their conditions of production. Consequently, such discourse, articulated by corporate foundations, establishes the curriculum as a selective tradition aligned with capital. Documentary analysis highlights the teacher-entrepreneur idealization and curricular fragmentation, promoting the “knowledge of the powerful” to the detriment of integral formation. The reform acts as an ideological device suturing social contradictions, silencing criticism, and precarizing educational autonomy, subjecting teachers and students to structural duality.
