Reading and memory are associated realities, since they are interdependent. This article is based on a statement by Ivan Izquierdo, neurologist and memory specialist. He asseverates that reading is the most complete way to exercise the memory. I, therefore, search for data, mainly in Cognitive Psychology, that reinforce this statement. In order to achieve that, I list some aspects about text processing and I classify memories according to function, content and length of time. From this point of view I outline the common and intrinsic interface between these realities.Downloads
