The article summarizes the results of a post-doctoral research project on “technology and territory in Brazil”. It deals with relations among socio-spatial inequalities, the excluding dynamic of the peripheral development and the role of subjects and institutions involved with science and technology policy in Brazil. The more general problem can be expressed as follows: How are technological development, economic development and social development related? How does this relationship manifest in the Brazilian territory? The main assumption is that the recent Brazilian development is socially exclusionary and so manifests itself the territory. The main purpose of the article is to examine the relationship between scientific and technological development, economic development and social development in Brazil in the recent period.Downloads
