Abstract

in times of changes, even when the future seems uncertain in rural regions, the analysis of this article based itself mainly on the following question: - What is the relevance of the family farms in the current context and what are the chances that they will be inserted in the globalization context? We seek to rethink rural development by means of regional planning strategies case studies. The global economic restructuration, the international political crises, the great ecological threats, as well as the emergence of new production and communication technologies, cause thorough transformations in societies around the world. This process, named globalization, materializes itself in a new configuration of the worldwide system, under the control of few people, together with the growing fragmentation of society. The process, however, does not differentiate in the countryside. This way, this study intends to reflect about the process of changes that occurs in rural regions, basing it on xperiences of case studies.
