Abstract

This article analyzes the situation of the organic food supply chain in the Distrito Federal (DF) – Brazil – during the COVID-19 pandemic, from the perspectives of production, commercialization, and consumption links. The results indicate that the pandemic had a direct influence on the supply chain, leading to moments of uncertainty and challenges, but producers, traders, and consumers continued their efforts. The pandemic highlighted the importance of adaptation and innovation, leading producers to seek new ways to market their produce. It also underscored the importance of food security and environmental sustainability, prompting many producers to invest in more sustainable and efficient practices. The research indicates that the organic food supply chain in the DF has new opportunities for prosperity and strengthening, as the pandemic has shown the importance of organic food for the health and well-being of the population.
