This text constitutes an epistolary essay constructed from the reflections proposed by the writer Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida in her essay What it is to be a Black woman writer today, according to me (2017). Based on the theorization about writing using this theoretical text as a basis, I seek to understand my own writing process by approaching the issues raised by Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, as well as my own reflections on the society I inhabit and the racial intersections that strain existing relationships. To this end, I also use memoir writing, which lives between the threshold of fiction and reality, to compose fragments, which also propose to carry out a creative exercise during theorization. This carries a dialogical and reflective space, in which theory and writing meet to talk about the writing of Black women in Brazil.
