In this paper, we briefly discuss the methodological problem linguists have to face when analyze language facts based on their own intuitions (or intuitions of native speakers) or based on a corpus of the target language. We point to the fact that the use of intuitive judgments presents some risks, but the exclusive use of linguistic corpus also brings its complications and limitations.Downloads
