Abstract

This article aims to analyze how data visualization is employed in Abortion Mazes report, published by the digital newspaper The Pudding, identifying the strategies mobilized to articulate information and visual appeal. The research is based on a case study by Gil (2002) and Bardin´s (1977) content analysis. The results reveal that the material employs a combination of visual metaphors, infographics, interactivity and storytelling to structure and communicate, in a clear and engaging way, data about access to abortion in the United States.
