Abstract

This article aims to analyze the literary work The Borrowers (1952), written by British author Mary Norton, and its film adaptation The Secret World of Arriety (2010), produced by the Japanese studio Ghibli. The analysis is made according to the studies of Intermediality by Elleström (2017), and its focus will be on the representation of nature in film and literary works and on their mediatic, stylistic and, in studio Ghibli’s case, philosophical specificities.
