This is an application of systems theory to social analysis at the micro, a more detailed scale than the local, as it takes the family, their home and their domain, as a system. It describes the house and Maya Purépecha, argues that it is a network of facilities run by the family and from home. This work is part of the line of urban sustainability that seeks to ensure strength elements of the social fabric to the crisis and concludes that the houses with "patio", "solar" or "backyard garden" or "backyard economy" are more sustainable than other forms of housing as they have in hand the control of resources, flexibility and opportunities for diversification that characterizes the house. Was carried out by comparison of two doctoral dissertations that had a gestation but independent conclusion that its authors have to agree aspects concerning the use and ownership of resources by the family in two states with ethnic and cultural characteristics strongly contrasted: the Yucatan and Purépecha (Tarascan or michoacana), both located in Mexico. It is hoped that this work is applied to the improvement in the collection of census data in planning and environmental management, the once-through systems theory correct-structuralist concepts on the division of labor according to sex and the alleged hand-to-reactionary of the family.Downloads
