Abstract

This paper aims at studying the factors that contribute to the composition of the household income of artisan fishermen from Tramandaí on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul. For this analysis we used a systemic approach as a tool for understanding the complexity of the fishing community. From the data collected could be obtained the definition of six types of artisanal fishermen, was running the various factors of income and were found some of the strategies of social reproduction in this group.
