The Paraná Competitive Program and its effect on the economic dynamics of the Parana municipalities: a space analysis

Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the effectiveness of the Competitive Paraná Program in the economic dynamics of the municipalities of Paraná between 2010 and 2014. For this, spatial econometrics was used to verify the effect of the program on the variation of industrial employment, total employment, wage mass and average wage. As a result, there is a process of decentralization of the Paraná industry and Paraná Competitivo presented a statistically significant effect on the economic dynamics of the municipalities receiving the investments. However, in the case of total employment and wage mass, no overflow effects were found for the municipalities of the wrap.
