From the development conception seen as economic growth to the new paradigms of rural development, the role of agricultural activity in the western developed societies has been experiencing significant changes. In this context, territorial approaches have intended to overcome sector analyses in the rural world, underlining social and environmental questions. This paper has the objective of analysing one of these approaches, the Localized Food System – SYAL, under the substantive economy theory of Polanyi, focusing on the social reproduction of rural communities.Downloads
