Economic growth, exports and technology: The paranaense case

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the structure of Paraná's export basket and the economic growth of the State. To do that, we collected data concerning of Paraná exports for the period of 1989-2010 (Aliceweb website), classifying them into technological levels according to the methodology used by Furtado and Carvalho (2005). Furthermore, rates of diversification, Revealed Comparative Advantage and Lawrence were calculated, in order to analyze the behavior of the State's exports over time. In the last part of this work, was estimated an econometric model (VAR) to analyze the relationship between the composition of exports and the economic growth of Paraná.Downloads
