This paper analyzes the profile and the agricultural economic growth in Southern Brazil, in the beginning of the XXI century. For this, the article applies indicators for the agricultural sector, such as the location quotient (QL), the index level of agricultural growth (INC) and the index of the rhythm of agricultural growth (IRC). The results show that the process of the Region's agricultural economic growth was dynamic in all states, but with a depressing agricultural economy. Reflection of agricultural industrialization process, which the last two decades, augmented in reason of greater trade openness, expansion of the internal market and economic stability. The indicator of the rhythm of agricultural economic growth classifies the State of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul as recessive agricultural growth and the state of Paraná as depressing agricultural growth.Downloads
