We seek to ponder over productive systems of Brazilian agrarian area: agribusiness and family farming. The reflection has as a guide the neoliberal model of agriculture, questioning whether agribusiness and family farming are synonyms or if they are different production systems. The restructuring of the world economy, the crisis of the international political system, the major ecological threats, as well as the emergence of new technologies of production and communication, cause deep changes in societies all over the world. This process called globalization materializes in a new configuration of the world system under the control of a few, together with the increasing fragmentation of the society. This process, however, does not differ in the Brazilian agrarian area.Downloads
