The discussion of land development has gained emphasis on both academic and laboring in terms of strategies for public policies oriented to rural areas. This approach has focused on the locus of different relationships and social, economic, political and cultural. However, as previously highlighted by Abramovay (2008), the literature is characterized by a lack of consistent theoretical basis for understanding the concept of territorial development. We can see the lack of a theoretical framework capable of producing more appropriate reflections of social interactions. Thus, this paper aims to propose a theoretical framework from a relational approach, identified in the works of Bourdieu (1989, 2000), Norbert Elias (1994, 2000) and Neil Fligstein (2005), which allows you to advance in the analytical treatment of some factors (institutional arrangements, relationships and social ties). Through the relational approach is possible to question the comparisons own studies on territorial development, seeking the intangible factors (such as the capital) the factors explaining the differences between certain regions (ABRAMOVAY, 2007), missing the territory as a place of belonging, diversity, power relations and conflict, in which they interact and actors marked by several different orientations and maintaining relationships with public policy.Downloads
