Faced with the scenario of degradation of forest landscapes that has been taking hold over time in the Amazon, caused by human activities, studies on forest recovery practices deserve to be highlighted. One example of this dynamic is in the municipality of Irituia, in the northeast of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon, where there has been an increase in the scale of forest recovery due to the practices of family farmers. With this in mind, this article aims to analyze the influence of family farms on the evolution of forest landscape recovery in Irituia. To this end, this study was based on the application of questionnaires, retrospective interviews and landscape analysis. It should be noted that changes in the production systems of family farmers in Irituia are influenced by a variety of factors operating at different scales, both internal, such as family demands, and external, such as incentives from the Municipal Department of Agriculture. Changes in land use on family farms as a result of the transition from cultivation areas (roça) to natural regeneration or the replacement of pastures with agroforestry systems have contributed significantly to the recovery of the municipality's forest landscape, with conservation practices also acting as an ally in the preservation of biodiversity.
