HE MISUSE OF ICTs, THE DISSEMINATION OF FAKE NEWS IN THE POST-TRUTH ERA AND THE OFFENSE TO PERSONAL RIGHTS

This research aimed to relate the themes of post-truth, misuse of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), the fake news phenomenon and the Personality Rights, in order to answer the following research problem: can the dissemination of fake news and the misuse of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) offend the Personality Rights? Its scope was to analyze what is understood by post-truth, focusing on the dissemination of fake news on social networks and the scenario of disinformation caused by them. For this, the hypothetical-deductive method was used, essentially bibliographical, carried out through the research of articles and books about the theme, collected in the databases: EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, SSRN, USP's bank of theses and dissertations, SciELO and CAPES' Periodical Portal.
