The writing of Grande sertão: veredas, by Guimarães Rosa, presents a series of lists, superimposed, that contribute to give movement and musicality the novel. From the reflections of Umberto Eco, in A vertigem das listas (2010), this article analyzes the poetic effect of the lists that compose the writing of the novel. Enumerations of words, popular sayings, names of plants and animals make up the lists that are present in the author's books. These lists, which served as support for the author's inventive writing, also appear abundantly in his fiction. We propose, in the present study, a reflection about the images, the musicality and the rhythm that the overlapping lists confer on the novelDownloads
