The text visits significant subjects of the historical Brazilian formation through the literature and the thought of Guimarães Rosa, in its dialog with wellknown Brazilian thinkers. The interlacement of the “mestizo” language and stile - the caboclo - with the European classics inheritance in "Grande Sertão: Veredas" and other texts of the author, offer important traces on the Brazilian identity, in terms of recurrent elements in the symbolic, sociological and psychological plans, which define the great psychosocial picture of brazilian identity. The author warns about the necessary contribution of humanities, with a special place of literature, to reach a deep and reflexive stage about the multiple interpretations of our social history.Downloads
