Abstract

The extension activity "Training on Protected Surrender of Children for Adoption" was developed as part of the Interdisciplinary Legal Practices D course at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), Montenegro Campus. With a 100% extension workload, the course integrated teaching, research, and extension, linking with the disciplines Family and Succession Law and Children and Adolescent Law. The project trained community health agents from seven Family Health Units (USFs) in Montenegro, addressing the legal and practical aspects of the CNJ Resolution nº 485/2023. Students conducted theoretical research, developed educational materials, and led in-person workshops. A pre-training survey identified knowledge gaps among agents, emphasizing the need for specific training on the topic. The activity promoted humanized care, the dissemination of essential information, and strengthened the bond between the university and the community. The results demonstrated a positive impact on students' academic development and the training of health professionals, reinforcing the transformative social role of university extension programs.
