Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to analyze the real growth of the franchise market in Brazil between in 2005 and 2019, as well as to identify which segments of this sector are the fastest growing in the last year. To achieve the proposal is evaluated annual growth rate of the total sector revenues in this period. It is also estimated annual revenues by segments of this sector in 2019 and 2018. The study concluded that the franchise market maintained positive growth over the period analyzed. However, here are two distinct time periods: from 2005 to 2012, growth rates were higher, between one and two digits, and stop and go; from 2013 to 2019 growth rates were, sometimes, below one digits and decreasing. Finally, it was observed that the segments that grew the most in 2019 were, in order of magnitude, respectively, Communication, Computers and Electronics; Home and Construction; and Services and Other Business, although, these segments do not correspond to the first placements in terms of participation in the total revenues of the sector.
