Abstract

This work presents the results of a pre-test taken place with students of the Production engineering course in a university in the Itajaí Valley, in Santa Catarina state. The data collected by the use of Likert scale were analyzed by the multivariate analysis procedure of the Factorial Analysis, using the varimax method, in which the obtained factors benefit the interpretation of the possible correlations among the conceptions presented in the measuring instrument. The results suggest that the future engineers have a positive vision in respect to the environmental education; therefore they need additional information that extrapolates the common sense.
