Abstract

Objective: to identify the mortality profile of indigenous children under 1 year old, residing in Paraná between 2010 and 2022. Method: quantitative research carried out with data from the Mortality Information System, from the Information Technology Department of the Unified Health System. Results: the main causes of mortality were conditions originating in the perinatal period 40.77%, diseases of the respiratory system 15.38% and congenital malformations 16.96%. There was a prevalence of deaths in males 54.62%, in the post-neonatal period 48.46%, in those born by vaginal birth 57.69%, between 37 and 41 weeks of gestation 31.54% and with 3,000 to 3,999 kg, 25.38%. Conclusion: the vulnerability faced by this population stands out through deaths among low birth weight and premature children, in the post-neonatal period, especially in cases associated with teenage mothers. Therefore, it is imperative to implement specific health policy actions aimed at indigenous peoples, aiming to mitigate these disparities.
