Epidemiological profile of morbimortality due to heart failure in Brazil between 2010 and 2020

Abstract

Introduction: Heart failure is a pathology characterized by signals and symptoms associated with reduced cardiac output. In Brazil, this is the main cause of hospitalization in the Unified Health System. To evaluate the available literature on indexed bases, we perceive deficiencies that concern regional analysis of data on mortality due to this cardiovascular syndrome. Objective: To determine the epidemiological profile of morbidity and mortality due to Heart Failure in Brazil between 2010 and 2020. Method: Ecological study, temporal series, with a quantitative approach, based on data from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System, the systematized in non-applicative tables Microsoft Excel®. Results: The regional distribution of mortality due to heart failure occurred due to alterations over the two 10 years analyzed, so the Northeast and North regions have seen greater growth in the mortality rate due to heart failure. Conclusion: Mortality is associated, mainly, with white and yellow ethnicity and with the female gender, tending as the main age group to the population above the 8th decade of life.
